The Fund Invests in On-Demand Service Provider Homee

The Fund is pleased to announce its investment in Homee, Inc. (Homee) (www.homeeondemand.com), an on-demand home servicing app that provides instant access to service providers in the immediate area including: plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning (HVAC), and general handyman.  The company provides on-demand access to these services from a vetted service providers that are available for hire in the local area.  Service requests are made via a “Uber-for-services-like” application.  The service request is sent to nearby service providers and consists of an immediate project to be performed with a rough scope of work.  The first to “claim” the project, gets the project.

Unlike many other companies (e.g., Angie’s List / HomeAdvisor) the opportunity is a “free” request to perform actual services, vs. a “paid” lead or opportunity to bid on a project.  Homee processes the transaction including billing the customer and paying the service provider, while retaining a service fee proportional to the transaction size.  Homee began operating in Tampa in July 2016.  Homee currently operates with over 1,100 service providers in seven metropolitan markets including Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Cincinnati and Columbus, OH.  Transaction volume has been increasing rapidly since inception.
