Ben Patz

Managing Partner

Ben is a co-founder and general managing partner of DeepWork Capital. He currently serves on the board of multiple companies and the UCF Research Foundation.


Prior to founding DeepWork Capital, Ben was the founder and CEO of Coleman Technologies. He grew sales to $250M and exited in 2009 to Presidio (Nasdaq: PSDO before $2B acquisition by PE industry), where he was the COO through 2013 leading operations and M&A. Earlier in his career Ben led advanced research in engineering firms serving the defense and aerospace industries. Ben was the principal investigator on a number of SBIR grants addressing the application of Fuzzy Logic and Neural Networks to control systems. He was an early advocate of autonomous vehicle technology and led the University of Central Florida team to finals in DARPA Urban Challenge.  Ben holds an MS in electrical engineering from the UCF and a BSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was awarded Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award for Florida in 2002 and UCF’s Professional Achievement Award in 2006 and 2016.


Outside work, you can usually find Ben rowing the various Florida lakes with his crew team, biking the (nonexistent) hills of Florida, or playing pickle ball.
